The data are recalculated by applying the international definition of usual residence.
Usual residence is defined as the place where a person has lived predominantly during the last 12 months, regardless of temporary absences (for the purpose of recreation, holidays, visits to relatives and friends, business, medical treatment, religious pilgrimages, etc.).
For the period 2014–2023, the number of the usually resident population is estimated based on the results of the 2014 Population and Housing Census.
Starting with 2024, the number of the usually resident population is estimated based on the data of the 2024 Population and Housing Census.
The information is presented excluding the population of the districts on the left bank of the Nistru River and the municipality of Bender (including the village of Proteagailovca), Chi_cani commune (including the villages of Merene_ti and Zahorna), the villages of Cremenciug and Gîsca in C_u_eni district, Corjova commune (including the village of Mahala) in Dub_sari district, as well as the village of Roghi within Molovata Nou_ commune, Dub_sari district.
